The Technology Transfer Office at the Office for Research Services and Career Development promotes the transfer of University technologies to industry.

We can advise and help on and all options for technology commercialisation, whether by sale or licensing of materials or intellectual property, or by establishing a new company (start-up) based on the technology. Revenue generated is used for the University to invest in further research.

- Is the Technology Transfer Office Still open?

Yes, we are working from home but feel free to contact us at

You can send us your Invention Disclosure Form electronically.

- What about other agreements?

We are continuing to provide support regarding NDAs, MTAs or any other agreement or proposal that involves IP issues.

- Are signatures a problem?

No, we can process documents in electronic format and arrange for signatures on scanned copies.

- Can I meet you in person?

As we are all working from home, the offices are closed so a face-to-face meeting will not be possible. However we are happy to talk over the phone or schedule a meeting once the offices are open.

- Are patent deadlines still valid?

Some patent offices have introduced waivers on some patent actions. However these are not all binding, so for the avoidance of doubt we will be working to all original official deadlines.
